Position Summary: 
To perform environmental cleaning services for the Institution following standards established by Industry Standards, ES Department, and Infectious Control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Essential Duties: 
1. Gathers and prepares supplies and cleaning solutions to be used in cleaning process when filling in for any schedule assigned to them each day.
2. Performs cleaning functions for assigned area(s) which include but not limited to: vacuuming carpets; dust mopping tile floors; cleaning and disinfecting bathroom surfaces; damp wiping surfaces; wet mopping tile floors using properly diluted chemicals, right cleaning equipment and supplies for each area, and removing the trash from their assigned area. 
3. Performs specialty cleaning functions for assigned areas which include: shampoo extraction of carpeting and furniture from spills and stains; projects such as wall and window washing, vent cleaning, sweeping stairwells and vacuuming elevator tracks.
4. Cleans their equipment used each day and brings them back down to environmental services storage room storing them according to department procedures. 
5. Processes and completes work order requests from all departments of the Center for furniture moves, meeting and conference room set ups, and audio-visual equipment delivery, etc.
6. Observes their scheduled area/s to help Identify potential problem areas and reporting facility or equipment malfunctions, suspicious persons, and safety hazards to supervisor.
7. Removal of biohazard waste containers throughout the facility of the different areas assigned each day.
8. Completes pick up of all materials to be recycled or shredded throughout the campus.
9. When filling in as the Linen Worker, performs linen functions to all patient care areas by delivering, removing, maintaining stock at proper levels at each location. Let’s their Supervisor know when to place orders with the vendor. Distributes lab coats from the linen room to Researchers and Docs when in the Linen Room. 
10. Travels to offsite storage for retrieval or returning of records, as needed.
11. Part of the snow removal team using a shovel or small tractor to keep the sidewalks clear for everyone to get into the buildings.
12. Fills in for the Outside Maintenance/ES Technician when that position is away from campus, as well as supports any activities outside that requires assistance for the Groundskeeper when the Groundskeeper is here.
Other Duties: 
1. Helps with major cleaning caused by facility problems such as; floods, water pipe breaks, cafeteria spills, accidents, etc.  
2. Stripping and waxing tile floors, spray buffing and bonnet cleaning of floors, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: 
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.   
Work Experience: 
1 year of previous floor technician experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting required.
