Position Summary    

Performs quality diagnostic CT scan procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the American Society for Radiologist Technologists (ASRT). This position works within the interdisciplinary team and provides leadership and oversite to the CT department and provides safe and personalized care for patients.

Essential Duties    

  1. Assists with operational oversite and leads co-workers for the CT department. This includes training other CT Technologists and leading workflow as needed. 
  2. Performs and leads high quality CT scan procedures to support accurate diagnosis while maintaining high quality patient care. 
  3. Performs IV injections for CT scan procedures. 
  4. Keeps up to date records of patient appointments, exams, image data, and other pertinent information, including but not limited to; record keeping that pertains to CT, contrast agent delivery and dispensing, quality control, equipment and is responsible for the coordination of add-on procedures.
  5. Helps maintain all CT scan procedures, policies and protocols. Assists with updating policies as needed. 
  6. Maintains radiation safety practices during all imaging procedures using ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) principles.  
  7. Uses hospital information systems proficiently including but not limited to; EMR, scheduling, RIS and PACS software applications.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Successful completion of an approved JRCERT (Join Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) program required. Associate’s Degree preferred.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience as a CT Technologist required.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Current R.T. (R) (CT) certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required. Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification required. If the ARRT certification was obtained prior to 2000 under special eligibility provision, graduation from an accredited program is not required.
